Florist Buckets
If you are a local florist who wants buckets of dahlias for your floral work, I would love to supply you! You can even specify your colour and type preferences. I'll deliver your flowers as often as you like.
Here's how it works.
- You can order one or more buckets of a colour scheme you like, or if you don't have a preference you can let me choose the best of the day for you.
- If your shop is reasonably local, I will deliver your flowers to you, or you can collect them from my flower farm in Meadowbank.
-
Florist Bucket orders are harvested on the day I deliver, so they are super fresh!
- I can deliver as often as you need! It could be a regular day of your choice, or it could be whenever I have a bucket of your favourites ready. Flowers on demand!
- Please come to visit my Dahlia Flower Farm. I would love for you to see where your flowers are coming from. You're also encouraged to come along in your event planning process so you can see exactly what flowers are going to be available on event day. I'm delighted you can use my flowers in your floral artworks.
What will the flowers be?
Well, you'll get an amazing bucket filled with whatever dahlias are blooming that day - either in the colour scheme and style you want, or Belinda's Choice! I have over 600 dahlia plants.
- My main dahlia field is planted in a colour gradient, so you can pick a 'gradient colour zone' that meets your needs
- I also have a field dedicated just to the pom pom ball dahlias!
- I have a large area that I'm calling "Valentine's Day-lia" - it's filled with really dark red wine - nearly black dahlias. A great alternative to Valentines roses, and of course ideal any time where you want those super dark flowers
- I also have a large area of the super popular Cafe au Lait dahlia - that's the big elaborate creamy-blush-beige flower, lovely for events
- White Wedding Zone - a variety of sizes of white ball dahlias
- Award Winning Flower - last season one of my blooms, Salmon Runner, placed Second in the Auckland Dahlia Society club competition! I am growing as many of these as I can, because they are truly beautiful.
- I have an experimental field where all the flowers are new kinds that I'm trying my hand at breeding. No one else has these flowers, so you will have a unique offering.
What about other kinds of buckets?
- Greenery Buckets - I have lots of lovely trees so I can make greenery buckets too. Magnolia, Camellia, Karaka, Kowhai, Feijoa shoots
- Other Flowers - I'm growing a zone of filler flowers, including Strawflowers, Globe Amaranth, Celosia (the plumes, and brains, and Flamingo Feathers), and Creme Brulee Phlox.
- Check the Belinda's Bloomers Facebook Page for photos of what is blooming each week to give you an idea of what is available.
Cost: Not entirely sure yet - but happy to negotiate as the season gets going. Includes free delivery to local suburbs around Meadowbank/Remuera.
It's lovely to support other local businesses, and this becomes part of both our stories.
Why is it so economical? Belinda's Bloomers Dahlia Flower Farm is a fun mini-business idea I want to test out, that has come out of the TenForward entrepreneurship workshops. I'm not a florist - but these are beautiful flowers from my garden that I'm delighted to share with you!
